Headlight Restoration in Vaughan: Cloudy Lenses, Clear Options
Cloudy or yellow headlights can make the front of your car look tired even after a good wash. Before replacing the assemblies, it is worth finding out whether the haze sits on the outside of the lens or comes from damage inside.
For drivers in Maple and Vaughan, headlight restoration can be a practical option when the outer plastic surface has deteriorated and the assembly is otherwise sound.
Why do headlights turn cloudy or yellow?
Plastic headlight lenses face sunlight, road debris and years of weather exposure. The outer surface and its protective coating can degrade, leaving haze, yellowing or small surface marks. Washing removes dirt, but it does not remove that damaged surface layer.
What can restoration improve?
Restoration works on the outside of the lens. Depending on its condition, the process can involve controlled sanding and polishing to reduce surface oxidation and improve clarity, followed by suitable protection. Preparation should match the lens rather than follow the same aggressive process on every vehicle.
It will not repair moisture inside the assembly, internal lens damage, broken housings or electrical faults. Cracks, deep deterioration or recurring condensation need assessment before you spend money on an exterior restoration. A clearer outer lens also does not correct bulb or beam-alignment problems.
Headlight restoration pricing at Ultraviolet
$120 + HST flat for both headlights, including ceramic coating and a 1-year warranty. The total is $135.60 including HST. All headlight restoration jobs include the 1-year warranty. Allow up to 45 minutes for the restoration. See the full headlight restoration service and appointment options.
This is a flat rate for restoring the exterior surfaces of both headlights. We assess the lenses first and explain whether restoration is appropriate. Internal damage, cracks and faulty components require a different repair. Contact the studio for the warranty coverage details that apply to your job.
Why the protection step matters
A freshly refined lens needs an appropriate finishing protection system. Ceramic coating is included with our headlight restoration service. The product, preparation and aftercare matter, so a coating label alone should not be treated as a promise of permanent clarity.
Ask which coating will be used and follow the care instructions provided with your vehicle, including any curing period before washing. Avoid assuming that every paint coating or household polish is suitable for a headlight lens.
Can I add paint protection film?
Headlight PPF is an optional upgrade, quoted separately from the $120 restoration service. Ask us to check the lens condition, shape and film suitability before choosing coverage. We will explain the preparation, price and care requirements before you decide.
Is it worth doing before a full detail?
If the headlights are the main thing making an otherwise tidy car look older, start with an assessment of the lenses. If the cabin and exterior also need attention, compare our interior and exterior detailing options and current service prices. Headlight restoration is a separate service, so confirm it when requesting your visit.
Ask about your headlights
Tell us your vehicle's year, make and model, whether one or both lenses are affected, and whether you have noticed cracks, moisture or a previous restoration. That gives us a useful starting point before inspection.
